Ever wondered how introverted, (and/or) socially anxious people live in a world that seems so loud and running?

Well, at first I couldn't even expect for there to be a way.

As a kid when I understood that I am more inclined towards the introversion end of the spectrum I also figured that my mother is not. Now it didn't matter that my father's an introvert too; he still wanted me to be 'outgoing'. So as a child I only remember being told I was shy or timid or can't make my way in the world without anyone 'bolder' by my side.

Long story short, at 20 I was diagnosed with Social Anxiety. Just what happens when growing up you are made to believe that your core personality is unpopular and hence a flaw. Just what happens when you reluctantly begin to push yourself to be something you are not.

I've always been ambitious but somewhere in the middle I began to believe- This is it. I'm a voiceless, dim person and there's no way I am capable of doing big things.

Nothing changes miraculously overnight so after years of drowning in self-pity and being hopeless I started to figure my way out. I read a few books, did some research online and though initially it was just out of curiosity I continued because it helped me draft a step by step process of actually getting out of the slump and looking towards Self Growth.

Primarily what got me out of the bed were the numerous stories of some incredible introverted men and women in history. Susan Cain's book 'Quiet- The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking' was an eye-opener for me in many ways.

So here's what I've come to believe. Any one! can have a happy life in this world if they identify their own value and are willing to put in the effort it takes to be a better version of themselves. Better doesn't mean change. It only means polishing to bring out your true potential and then using it to build a better everything for yourself- health, relationships, work, life!

In her book Quiet, Susan Cain says- "I have seen firsthand how difficult it is for introverts to take stock of their own talents, and how powerful it is when finally they do". The sentence itself felt so powerful that I decided to share my journey here with everyone who needs it to help them understand how exactly it feels to be on a practical journey that is in your control, that you know will give you the answer to the question we started with. How do we live in a world so loud and running?

For that matter, how do any of us make our way in a world we don't seem to fit in?

We do that by choosing to not fight whoever we are first- quiet, neurotic or unconventionally ambitious. Then we work from there.
